“My husband and I had been thinking of having a portrait done of our three chihuahuas for a while.  One day I was looking through our community paper and saw an ad for a local artist who did all types of paintings, including pet portraits.  Her name was Sonja Petersen.  

I contacted Sonja and explained to her what we wanted for our portrait.  My first impression of Sonja was that she is a serious artist who is most detail oriented in her work.  Sonja is a kind lady, very friendly, easy to work with, stays in touch through the process, asks questions and keeps to her deadline.  She is dedicated to creating a portrait that you will be happy with.  

When we saw our portrait completed, we were so excited!  The portrait was done in fine detail with emphases on each pet's eyes, nose, little faces and ears.  The portrait looked exactly like our chihuahuas!!  We were more than pleased with Sonja's portrait!!

Sonja is the only one I would trust to capture my fur babies for posterity. This is the second pet portrait I have commissioned. She and I had a few conversations beforehand. She communicated a proposed timeline and the final cost including the deposit. A preliminary sketch was also emailed to me so I could preview the work while in progress.
