Q: Do you need to meet my pet or does my pet need to sit still for the portrait?

Sonja: No. It’s not necessary for me to meet your pet. Please provide photographs of your pet to help me see the physical characteristics and their personality, too. If you can send 3 or more photos that's ideal.

 

Q: How long does it take to draw my pet or my home?

Sonja:  Drawings can take between 2 to 10 weeks, depending on how many pieces I'm already working on. If you have a special occasion, such as a birthday or anniversary gift, please let me know when you order your commission.

 

Q: Do you frame?

Sonja: Framing is not included in for-hire commissions. All custom pieces are sold unframed. All artwork is delivered flat (not rolled). We will assist with framing options upon special request. 

 

Q: What if I don't have good photos of my house or pet? Do you photograph them for me?

Sonja: Photography services are not included in for-hire commission pricing. We will be happy to provide a custom price for photography services upon request. 

 

Q: Do you ship artwork?

Sonja: Yes. We ship artworks to the address of your choice. Shipping costs are passed along to you and costs vary based on art size and destination.

 

Q. When do you require payment?

Sonja: Payment in full (or deposit of 50% down) is required to schedule your artwork. Any balance will be due upon completion of the artwork.

 

Q. How do I send you payment?

Sonja:  You will receive an email invoice. Payments accepted are credit cards and checks by mail.

 

Q: How do I care for my artwork?

Sonja: Drawings are created using fine art pencils which may smudge when handled too much. Please try not to handle the surface of the artwork more than is necessary. Framing the drawings will help protect against smudging.  Canvas paintings are at risk for stretching or puncturing if they are stabbed or pressed along the surface with too much force. Please try to store your canvas painting against a flat, non-sharp surface when it's not hanging on a wall. 

 

Q: Do you provide refunds?

Sonja: I strive to represent the artworks online as accurately as possible. Please request additional photos or a video if you'd like to see more details about the artworks before purchasing. Custom commissions are a result of our conversations about your proposed piece of art. In most cases, I can make small revisions to your custom piece to ensure you are completely happy with your commissioned artwork. In the event that you are unhappy with your purchase, I will refund 90% of your purchase price upon return of the artwork and a full inspection by Sonja of the artwork to ensure that it is unaltered or undamaged. Shipping fees are not refundable.
